The 2025 BAFTA Film Awards nominations were announced on Thursday, with the papal thriller Conclave and the crime-musical Emilia Pérez emerging as the frontrunners. The two films each garnered multiple nominations, with Conclave leading the charge with 12 nods, followed by Emilia Pérez with 11.

The announcement took place in London, where actors Mia McKenna-Bruce and Will Sharpe revealed the list of nominees, highlighting an impressive array of films and talent. The nominations showcase a range of genres, from drama to animation, as well as several breakthrough filmmakers.

Among the standout nominees are Payal Kapadia's All We Imagine As Light, which received recognition in the Best Film Not in the English Language category, and Sandhya Suri's Santosh and Karan Kandhari's Sister Midnight, both of which were nominated for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer. Indian-origin filmmaker Dev Patel also earned a nomination in this category for his directorial debut, Monkey Man.
